ABOUT SHIMMixes?
SHIMMixes is the name of the new “josh012595mixes”, a mash-up project name ran by a simple fan-masher that started mixing back in 2009 at the age of 14.
SHIMMixes, also known as DJ Shim, is a 17 year old Filipino mash-up artist. He is known for having created a monthly mash-up for Korean songs in the past year, but he is also known to have released a few mash-up compilations under the name josh012595 before he started his new mash-up projects.
Already interested in music at a young age, he first dreamt of being a musician. But this changed when he developed an interest to audio mixing at around the 4th grade when he experimented over a few tracks using Sound Forge, an audio editor developed by Sonic Foundry. He only knew how to cut, copy and overlay tracks until he tried to make his own mash-ups in 2009, and posted “AH Amoled”, his very first mash-up, in youtube.
He closed his old mash-up channel at around 2011, and started making mash-ups under the name “SHIMMixes” in January of 2012. He is yet to fully master further skills, but he wishes to become a music producer in asian countries such as Korea and Japan in the future.
DJShim hopes to bring out the best of his abilities through this new project, and he hopes that all mash-ups that he creates will draw people in for the love of the music.
